Drivetrain was founded by multi-instrumentalist Randy Smith. After years of touring and recording with various national artists Randy teamed up with Drivetrain’s singer Yvonne and formed the group as an outlet for their own original music. They have been very surprised at the great audience response to the band’s live shows and original music.

Touring all over the U.S. and abroad Drivetrain uses mostly acoustic instruments blending styles such as bluegrass, jazz, rock, pop, blues, country and more to create a style hard to place in any one music genre. Influenced by Alison Krauss and Union Station, Nickel Creek, James Taylor, John Denver and countless others, their sound reflects the acoustic music of yesterday, today and beyond.
